C-Mount
C-Mount was originally developed in the 1920’s for film cameras and has been in use ever since. These can be attached to the camera by attaching the 5mm spacer ring. There are a vast array of C-Mounts available as they were commonly used on home movie cameras in the 50’s and 60’s, security and TV cameras and now for machine vision, factory automation and inspection applications that require the highest quality optics. You can buy vintage or new! There are a wide variety of 1″ format C-Mount lenses on the market that are specifically designed for the 1″ image sensor in the Mission 1. Vintage 16mm Bolex C-Mount film lenses are tremendous with loads of character. Many C-Mount lenses are 2/3″ or 1/2″ which means those won’t fully cover the sensor, however they will still work perfectly to produce 4K+ footage when cropping 8K footage or zooming in with the camera menu.
Quick Change MFT Mount
We’ve redesigned our MFT mount for the Ribcage PRO 1+ so that it can be added and removed on the fly with only one simple tool that you typically have with you. Pocket change! Use a US quarter or larger coin (like a Canadian Loonie) to screw in or remove the retaining ring in seconds so you can change lens types quickly while you’re on the go!
M12, M16 and CS-Mount
M12 and CS-Mount are largely designed for cameras with smaller sensors like those found in the Hero13. Even though these lens types won’t fully cover the 1″ image sensor, we chose to add compatibility to add an extra layer of versatility to the modified camera. You can expect them to vignette when mounted to the camera, but cropping 8K footage or zooming in with the camera controls still results in stunning 4K+ footage and a tremendous bonus for low cost and ultra compact shooting options. M16 lenses are designed for slightly larger sensors with many full 1″ options now available. M16’s have a wide choice of ‘Starlight’ lenses with a aperture of F1.0 or F0.95 for spectacular low light results.
Tripod Mount Included
Our universal aluminum tripod mount is included with the conversion. If you don’t want to rely on the original folding fingers or shallow single tripod mount that come with the original camera, our aluminum mount has three dedicated 1/4″ mounting positions for a a solid connection. The mount is compatible with GoPro’s cage and Media Mod when added once the camera in inside. Don’t need it for your Mission 1? Use it on any GoPro Hero8 and up!
