The following image gallery highlights some of the main changes in the new Hero4 cameras. Check back for updates!
The Hero4 appears to use the same image sensor as the Hero 3+ with a few minor differences. Most of the performance boost comes from the additional processing power of the Hero4 Black.
The Hero4 faceplate is still held in place with adhesive tape and tabs, however the button is no longer attached.
This image shows the Hero4 Silver next to a Hero3+ Black. The new Silver camera has almost the same capabilities as the 3+ Black with the addition of a built in screen. The wires seen on the Hero4 board lead to the built in speaker which is located on the lower left of the board.
The LCD button strip on the Hero4 now features a larger LCD display with integrated LED lights. The lights were seen through two holes in the faceplate on previous models
The new battery goes into the bottom of the Hero4 and has slightly less capacity. The new cameras are still compatible with the existing battery BacPac.
